Forged In Blood
Forged In Blood

Is there a nation historically which came to have settled politics that was not forged in blood?
Perhaps in the future greater enforcement will be the thing: that the powerful nations will come to bear upon the others, those that don’t uphold their doctrines, to ensure democratic principles. This either by dictat or by force; this in the longer term interest of their people and the wider world community. If blood is shed in the process, and no doubt it will be, it will be entirely consistent with history.
To use Burns and old Scots wisdom: "WE will drain our deepest veins but THEY shall be free." In other words, one generation pays for the freedom of the next, invariably in blood.
