Beyond a certain degree of ability it’s hard to work out why some people are successful and some not.

Some get it early, fade away and are never heard of again. Others remain consistently and repeatedly successful throughout their careers. Some plod on for long periods and eventually attain the desired goal. Some plod on forever and get nothing.

All the while you would never know why it is this way. Look at their work and it will never tell you. Study their modus operandi and you’ll be none the wiser. It’s just one of these things that’s not for the knowing. Perhaps it’s a random happening. Perhaps the reasoning is so complex it’s beyond analysis.
