One thing I don’t like about so called ordinary people is that they don’t change anything. This means that your involvement with them is likely to be around doing things in which they are the participants, the ones who are controlled, manipulated, acted upon, the ones with no power. You then by association are in danger of becoming the same.
If you are one inclined to changing things you might become the leader among such a set. You would then be depended upon to provide the ordinary folks with their participation activity. You might be loved or reviled accordingly. Sometimes both.
This is why, on the whole, I prefer exceptionals, those who have it in their personalities to effect change and make a difference. In my experience these types are extremely rare indeed.
This may sound like the view from snobbishness and elitism. For that I couldn’t care less.
