A simple definition of spirituality: all the high value stuff that has a broadly benevolent effect.

That would include the development of knowledge and the intellect. It would include a healthy emotional life with due attention and understanding given to the inner processes.

It would involve good relationship and acts of intelligent generosity.

It might also include art and religion but these two have such a suspect history and seem to cause as many problems as they solve that without some radical transformation perhaps not.
