I thrive on intimate connections. I mean that in the broadest sense. It doesn't have to be sexual. intimacy can simply be about conversation and disclosure.

My kind of intimacy is at odds with exclusivity. Exclusivity by its nature closes down opportunities for intimacy particularly for men as they tend to equate being intimate with sex. Women have more strings to their bow there with a more complex set of attachments.

For me as much intimacy as can be managed is a good thing. But it’s a hard course to follow as all the more normal social functions go against it.
