Inspiration
King's voice from his famous speech at the Civil Rights March in Washington ‘63 rings in the ear the way a powerful piece of music does. The more I hear it the more it has spiritual resonance. I may well believe that freedom is indeed only ever an aspiration never a reality but MLK's rhetoric is no less inspirational for that.
Free At Last appears on the Dalriada album Sophistry & Illusion. It was composed in tribute to the great man and for what his work represented: an attempt to liberate America from its racial transgressions toward everything that Abraham Lincoln had wished for. The job is far from complete.
