Crossing The Line
When I retired from performing in favour of the studio George put The Outpatients together with John, Mike and Raymond. We made a brief attempt at being a record label then and “Home Is Where Your Heart Is” was the B-side of the first single. Despite the very primitive recording equipment it was a solid enough piece of work.
The enterprise didn’t take though. Pressing vinyl turned the music into a commodity, all about radio plays, record stores, promo and units sold and I wasn’t much into that. I would be an artist first and last and art into commerce was crossing the line.
